AntiEffect Remove distracting Minecraft effect visuals
Suppress the visual impact of nausea, blindness and darkness on your local client without pretending the server-side status effects are gone.
A focused visual accessibility mod
AntiEffect is a lightweight, always-active client-side Minecraft mod for Fabric. It targets three status-effect visuals: the screen distortion caused by nausea and the overlays associated with blindness and darkness.
The mod changes what the local client reports to its renderer. It does not cure an effect, change its duration, alter movement or tell the server that the effect ended. Gameplay rules controlled by the server still apply.
Important: AntiEffect removes visual impact locally. It does not remove server-side effects or give the player immunity to them.
How AntiEffect works
When Minecraft checks whether the local player has nausea, blindness or darkness for rendering purposes, AntiEffect hides those three local queries. The mod limits this behavior to the local player and leaves every other effect alone.
There is no menu, keybind or configuration file. If the matching AntiEffect JAR is in your mods folder, the suppression is active for the entire client session. Remove the JAR and restart Minecraft to return to vanilla rendering.
Included functionality
Screen distortion suppression
Prevents the local nausea rendering query from producing its usual screen distortion.
Overlay suppression
Hides the local blindness visual overlay while the underlying effect remains active.
Darkness visual suppression
Hides the local darkness overlay without modifying the server-side status effect.
Automatic and focused
Runs only on the client, needs no keybind and does not require Fabric API or Cipher HUB.

AntiEffect FAQ
Does AntiEffect remove status effects from the server?
No. It suppresses the local visual queries for nausea, blindness and darkness. The actual effects remain active server-side.
Does it require Fabric API or Cipher HUB?
No. Only a compatible Fabric Loader and Java version are required.
Can I toggle AntiEffect in game?
No. It is intentionally always active while installed and has no configuration, keybind or off switch.
Does a server need AntiEffect installed?
No. AntiEffect is declared as a client-only mod. You should still follow the rules of every server you join.
